QuestionVehicle: 1997 GMC Sierra 1500 with the 5.0L 305 V-8 (supposed a Camaro engine bored out for more torque to be a cheap truck engine).
This vehicle has been in the family for years...
Pressure is generally at 40-50. For the past months despite an oil change, higher quality filter & filter magnet, pressure reads at 60 far too long after start-up... I'm scared.
AnswerHi
I would not worry about 10 psi, UNLESS there are other symptoms (knocking, tapping, oil leaks etc...) It MAY be a gauge issue.
I would have the pressure tested and make sure it is actually running at what the gauge is saying.
That would be my advice to start.
