GMC Repair: engine noise 2005 gmc envoy, gm envoy, power steering pump

I am getting an increasing loud noise (whine)from my 2005 GM envoy 4.6 A mechanic suggested to change the power steering pump but did not fix the problem.
any known defects

Hi
It is MOST likely the Belt idler pulley, which is on the drivers side between the Alternator and A/C Compressor.
Easy fix, everyhting should be just at or under $100.00 (USD).
ONLY other item I have seen make noise is the water pump. If it is bad you can grab the fan blade and moove it up and down. It will move ALOT and feel bad.
