GMC Repair: Looking for a reasonably priced repair shop, head gasket, liter engine
QuestionI have a 1995 GMC Jimmy with a V6 4.6 liter engine which I think is in need of a new head gasket.
Question 1:
The symptoms are that the truck is burning antifreeze. Sweet smelling smoke coming from mid section of engine pipe and a small amount from the tail pipe upon start up. The anitfreeze and oil are not contaminated. I've been checking the anitfreeze levels daily and adding a small amount every other day or so. The engine has been treated very well with regular oil changes and tuneups - leading me to believe the gasket is in need of replacing and not a cylinder or the block is cracked.
Question 2:
I'm looking for a reasonably priced repair shop in the Boston area to do the work. Any recommendations?
Thanks,
-melanie
