GMC Repair: ignition problems, crank sensor, gmc suburban
Questionmy 90 gmc suburban shut off going down road i tried to restart it but no success i was getting no fire i replaced the modular, coil ,and cap and rotor i am getting some voltage out of coil wire but nothing out of the cap there is 12.4 volts going into the coil when i turn it over i get about 9.2 volts at coil wire
AnswerYour coil voltages at the POSITIVE side of the coil terminal appear to be OK. Did you perform the test procedures on the coil itself ?.
Did you perform the test procedures on the crank sensor ?.
You stated MODUALTOR, Did you mean IGNITION MODULE ?.
You need some basic electrical test procedures to perform the above tests using an OHM meter.
