GMC Repair: 1988 gmc 1500 pickup, spark plug wire, gmc 1500

Question
The Vechicle Emission Control Label is missing under the hood and I would to check the timing. I know that I must unplug the EST. It is the 305 engine.

We just moved and I don't have all my books unpacked, As the wife say's HOUSE FIRST, YOUR CRAP LATER. And my respose was, Being the MAN of the house was "YES DEAR".

I did already have some books of over 60+ unpacked BEFORE she caught me.

The closest book I have UNPACKED is for an 83 305 and it states 4 to 6 degrees BTDC with EST unlugged and timing light on the # 1 spark plug wire.

Once I am ALLOWED to unpack all my books I can consult the 88 book to confirm the timing.
