American Motors: oil leek, timing chain cover, weather strip

Ihave a amc 304 that is leeking oil where the top of the timing chain cover meets the block just below the front of the intake when i pull it off do i use gasket sealer along with the gasket any tips appreciated

You should make sure the surface is clean, then apply the gasket using an adhisive sealer. i.e. 3M weather strip adhsive. Apply a dab of RTV at the corners of the gasket where the intake manifold/cylinder head/block meet and at the oil pan/timing cover and a light bead around the water jackets in the timing cover.
