Audio Systems: car stereo, fuse boxes, ford escape

Question
I have an 02 Ford Escape and it still has the original stereo in it. The whole unit won't work. No radio, no cd player, no clock, and no lights. What do you think happened to it? We tried the fuse. I also can't get my cd's out of it.

there are 2 fuse boxes in that vehicle,
checl all the fuses not only the radio ones
there are 3 fuses , if averything ok pull the radio and check the main plug
ford radios from 1998 to 2002 have a bad radio plug , but there was never a recall
