I have exact same problem with my car as answered by you on 9/28/2009. Do you know whether the customer's problem was solved by resetting both the Head Unit and the Changer, or was a new in dash CD changer purchased?

I get replies only seldom.  On the question you refer to there was no feed  back.

But it is rare that a reset will solve the problem.  Generally when a cd mechanism bums out the cure is to replace it.  The repairs are usually more expensive than a replacement.  Some elect to do away with CDs altogether and use an MP3 player or iPod.  These take much less space, can be carried away with you AND hold equivalent of 100s or CDs.
