QuestionI there,
My brother recently purchase his first car, a 1998 Chevy Monte Carlo Z35. This car has the original tape deck, steering wheel buttons, and also the Variable Speed Control. I am looking to find him a CD player radio for this car that all the original equipment will work with but i was wondering what years would fit this car? What is the earliest and latest year Monte Carlo radio that will fit, and also are there any other radios such as the Impala that will? I would appreciate the help so that i can broaden my shopping range a little.
AnswerThese are places I suggest you study to learn about the options and alternatives:
ONE: Crutchfield has the best "outfit your car" look up in the business. You should go to:
http://www.crutchfield.com/app/car/carselector.aspx?lp=%2fapp%2fCar%2fMyCar.aspx
for starting the search.
TWO: For wiring guide on this car go to:
http://www.modifiedlife.com/1998-chevrolet-monte-carlo-car-stereo-radio-wiring-d...
or:
THREE: Also, for various connections, wiring harnesses, interface items, etc. look at:
www.installer.com
FOUR: For add on and replacement units go to:
http://www.oemautosound.com/default.aspx
I think you might have trouble finding units that interface exactly. You may find, at the last URL above, a rebuilt or replacement head unit that will work in it. If not on their web page, call them and see if they have it or can get it.
Happy Hunting.
