QuestionHi there -- I have a 1996 Ford Explorer with an original factory CD changer in the console. The CD changer has worked like a champ for many years. Unfortunately, about six months ago the stereo would no longer load CDs. Instead, the stereo says "No CD" whenever I try to access a disc in any slot in the changer.
Any suggestions?
I see there are working used CD changers on eBay for less than $50. Should I just swap with a different one? Thanks!
Also, there's a short or something in the car or stereo that causes the lights on the stereo to go bright, dim, or off randomly while driving. This doesn't bother me at all, but it might affect the troubleshooting. Other than that, the stereo seems to work properly.
Thanks again!
AnswerThe cd changer is defective and needs to be repair or replace, ( bad cd no cd ) if buying from ebay make sure there is a warranty i got a few my self and to be honest the first 2 units didn't work i have to send them back and buy from a diferent seller, and i just remember that i have to go to ebay to give some bad seller a negative for the bad changer
you can also get a rebuild ford cd changer from oemautosound.com they are $150.00 and come with 8 months warranty
