QuestionI just bought this tv from a college, and it is evidently used for a monitor for tracking something to do with the school (I can kinda see a shadow of the school emblem in the corner sometimes). The problem is this: I am having a hard time adjusting the color so that it appears 'natural'. I have tried adjusting the tint, color, sharpness, brightness, contrast, but it still doesn't get exactly right.
Background information: I had to put the tv into the vehicle by turning it up/down/etc. many ways, and I was warned about having it oriented any way but upright because it would cause problems with the colors. So I took a half hour to adjust it to be able to travel upright in the front seat of a small car!) It stayed in the car, 60-70 deg F, for about 7 hours, brought into the house, and sat another 12 hours, tested, then sat 2 more days before connected to video sources.
What is wrong? What can I do? Is it worth it?

Answeri'm sorry to say that from what you described, it sounds like the picture tube may be shot. if you can get your hands on a degaussing coil, and run it around the front, back it away and turn off the coil, that may help if it's a magnetism related problem. otherwise crt is bad. the cost of a new or rebuilt crt makes repair not cost effective.. sorry..
