Audio Systems: Speakers for Laptop, mackie srm450, receiver amplifier
QuestionI have a Bose sound dock portable that I am presently using with my laptop to play music at dances. When there are more people in the room, the sound is not loud enough. I would like to get a system (that is lightweight) that would work in a larger room. My friend first thought I would need Bose 301 speakers and a receiver & amplifier. Then he was told integrated speakers would be better. We found this unit online. The sales people say it has great sound. Do you know anything about this unit? AnswerLight weight, portable and loud do not always go together. The devices you listed are not really portable. My field is mostly sound reinforcement and I used to use portable systems when I DJ'd. Always something beefier that what your looking at. If you really want portable and want the ability to easily add as many of these speakers as needed look at http://www.brookstone.com/store/thumbnail.asp?sid=110106&wid=11&cid=1101&search_... Anything else that I would recommend will be semi professional to professional audio.
