QuestionQUESTION: I am doing an installation piece in which multiple sound tracks will be played on
different speakers/headphones (one track on one speaker, another track on a
different speaker). What equipment do I need to get/Is there a way to
accomplish this with one central device?
ANSWER: It is difficult to answer this because I don't know how many tracks you are intending to use. As the number of tracks increase the cost of the equiment will also increase. Please note that headphones only have 2 possible speakers (L/R). Please explain further and I'll try to provide more details.

QUESTION: I have about ten different tracks and ten different speaker/headphone sources
needed... one track for every speaker
AnswerTascam has a multitrack recorder that will give you separate inputs and outputs (8 I think). You will need 4 amps and 8 speakers. It is not possible to use headphones unless you plug them into each amp or use the headphone jack on the Tascam and select one track at a time.
Hop onto the Tascam website for details on the equipment available. It will be listed under multi-track recorders.
