QuestionQUESTION: I have a telex, model#txc82040 fp. It has a record player,8track player, am-fm radio. I need to know if there is a place that can work on this. It just needs the turntable fixed. Please let me know if you can help find some information on this,ok. Thanks, Betty
ANSWER: I'm sure there are plenty of places, but I don't know where you are. There are fewer places that will work on this older equipment. For starters, the turntable section will require either a new belt or a new rubber drive wheel. If a wheel is required, there are only a few that are still available. Also, most of the grease inside will nned to be removed and the unit will require a re-lube. Expect a bill in the range of $10-$20 for the replacement rubber parts plus the local labor rate for the repair.

QUESTION: The turntable part I was referring to is the record arm and the cartilage where the needle goes,ok. Do you have any information on this? I appreciate you help. Thanks, Betty
AnswerThe arm movement is controlled by gearing and levers under the platter. The grease I referred to will effect this operation. There should be some numbers or letters on the cartridge +/or the needle. With that info, I should be able to point you to some suppliers for those parts.
