Audio Systems: Muting function, pioneer deh, unit thanks

Hello,

I have installed the Pioneer Deh-p5900ib in my car.  It has been functioning great for the last 2 weeks.  All of the suden the sound muting function has started cutting in and out, and i can not get it to stop.  I have nothing wired to the harness for this function to be activated by, so i am woundering if i have a deffective unit.

It is possible that bad connections effected by heat/cold are causing this.  Without placing the unit on a bench and seeing the signals inside the unit, this will be difficult to trace.  It is also possible that one of the chips inside is sensitive to heat/cold as well.  Check with a local servicer for a cost for diagnosis.
