QuestionQUESTION: I purchased this system in 1994 and am just now having some issues. The power adapter went out and I have a similar one just to get some power to system. I get lights,CD works, all LED functions are go. I am in the process of trying to locate another AC adapter that is exact specs if that may be a problem. But There is no sound, and I have tried to plug the output into all plug-ins but no sound. It seems like the Acoustimass system is out and if I can figure out how to open I can access it to check for shorted system.
Also, there is a slight short in the jack input for the AC adapter on the back of the control module but I think I can
fix that and keep it on.
Thanks for any help
ANSWER: If the power adapter you are using does not have sufficient capacity, you will see symptoms like you describe. Get the correct adapter before you spend a lot of time looking for a problem that doesn't exist.

QUESTION: I located and received a new AC adapter unit, and plugged it in. I have power to the control panel, but still no sound on tape,CD,video or Radio. What do you think I should try next?
The Acoustimass Bass system?
Thanks
AnswerI would guess at this point that the outputs are bad. This may have causes the power adapter to fail initially. These are not the easiest systems to work on. I would suggest that you get a repair estimate from a repair shop for this. Some of the parts are Bose specific and are not usually available directly.
