QuestionQUESTION: hi, i have a 1999 lincoln continental and i am trying to install a panasonic cd/mp3 player. i matched up the wires color for color and i was left with two orange wires on one end with nothing to match up to, and two blue wires and a black and white striped wire on the other end with nothing to match up to. i assumed they were not needed so i reconnected the battery and it keeps blowing out the 15a fuse in the back of the deck im trying to install. wat am i doing wrong?
ANSWER: 2 orange are dimmer lights you don't need
black /white is ground for the factory amplifier ,you need to ground that cable
blue from the radio and blue from the plug is to turn on the amplifier connect them together
but this is no reason to blow a fuse
check the yellow, red, and black wire there is a problem somewhere in the connections

QUESTION: but how is it possible to connect blue to blue if they are both coming from the deck and there is no blue wires coming from the wire harness to match up and it is the right harness?
Answerthe 2 blue wires are one for the electric antenna and the other for the external amplifier or factory
there is no electric antenna in that vehicle
but i believe that there is a factory amplifier ,if this is the Lincoln with the alpine system
basic Lincoln you don't connect any of the blue wires
