QuestionQUESTION: Well, I went out to my car, this a.m., to commute to work - and the VOLUME control is not working in my stereo! It kept cranking to mind-exploding proportions; the system was fine last night when I "put the car to bed". It has a 6-CD load, and the single twist-to-turn knob for volume control. Help! I just bought the car two weeks ago and want to fix this as inexpensively as possible. Thanks so!
ANSWER: check the amplifier in the trunk
worst problem they have is where they are mount water gets there all the time

QUESTION: I want to thank you for your time, but we hadn't had any rain, in that overnight period, and by the afternoon of the same day it happened, it was fine. Of course, when I took it to the car stereo place. We are thinking that the knob itself got "out of whack" and maybe it jostled back to a "connection". Who knows... Thanks again.
Answerthere are some amplifier in the trunk of your vehicle one is for the right one for the left side or sometimes there is amplifiers for mids and amplifier for subs if they fail you can only hear the tweters
the first thing to do is check the amplifiers power if there is power the defective unit needs to be replace
check the amplifiers or switch them first
