Audio Systems: ford taurus 2002 radio problems, ford taurus, radio problems

My radio(which is a radio/cd/climate control module) will not pick up any radio stations. It will just seek and seek. It will only play one of the preprogrammed stations, but with lots of static. I was going to get a new radio, but the dash kits makes it to expensive for me right now, so I was wondering if there were any things I could do to make it work correctly or better.

pull the carpet, ( left side of the trunk ) you will find the radio and the antenna there   the first thing to do is to unplug the antenna ans check all the connections,
if all look ok replace the antenna with a $10.00 from the auto parts a ruber antenna is ok  just to try plug it outside ,and if that fails you need a new radio
