Audio Systems: Removal of my factory 2004 Isuzu Axiom CD Changer, isuzu axiom, factory cd

My factory cd changer has no life at all.  I was told once that it just may be a wire somewhere disconnected.  I, however think that was just a guess.  I'd much rather have it removed, and replace it with a aftermarket changer, but still have it in the console.  Is that possible, w reasonable labor costs?

It could also be a fuse popped. worth checking a few things first. I would have the changer checked and see if it is indeed unplugged, or just inoperative. At that point, you should be able to get a quote on getting a new system installed from any good auto sound shop.
