Questioni have a 8inch kicker sub i want to subsitute in place of the factory 6.5inch factory harmon kardon subs ( both are blown) i want to add a m.a. audio m689i amp to the new kicker sub an leave the factory exisiting harmon kardon amp for the other speakers please help
AnswerSure. Sounds fine. So, what is the question?
You can just connect it up. The m689i has its own built in crossover. The output will drive:
2 x 180 Watts RMS @ 4 Ohm Stereo
2 x 250 Watts RMS @ 2 Ohm Stereo
1 x 800 Watts MAX @ 4 Ohm Bridged
You did not tell me what voice coil the Kicker has; single or dual, so you will have to figure that one out on your own.
The inputs to the amp take high or low input; you can bring rcas to it or bridge from the HK amp....
Have a great time. Kicker makes a good sub. Happy listening!
