QuestionQUESTION: i think it has a bad tape head is there anyone who can do repairs on this i will pay i love it but it needs help.
ANSWER: Hi Jason,
Automobile audio systems are rarely worth fixing - the price is higher than buying a new model or replacement. Anyway, this site isn't for repairs - you can contact JVC to find an authorized service center in your area. Good luck! Cheers, Wink

QUESTION: the is actually a desktop system made in the early 70's and im just trying to save it. JVC service was no help.
AnswerHi Jason,
Sorry, but there's no way I can tell you what head you'd need to replace it with. You can search your local phone pages under "audio equipment" and "repairs" or do a Web search for those terms with your home town, and try to find a local shop to work on it, but I almost guarantee that what it'll cost you to fix won't be worth it. The last tape head I had someone else replaced was estimated to cost $120 and that was years ago, no way was it worth it. Unless you can open the box yourself, get to the tape head, figure out the part number, find a place to order a replacement, and put it in yourself, you're going to find that it's just not worth the money. Sorry, Wink
