Hi there
i have a dodge dakota02 that i have been messing around with well i put in a new deck its a alpine cde-9852 and a Memphis PR 500 Watt Mono Amplifier going to a JBL 1200w sub I'm getting a like humming sound when the truck is on but not when it is off. can you help me?

is it a hum that matches the pitch of the engine? like when you rev the engine does the sound of the pitch rev with it?
Or is it a constant pitch hum?
Answersorry it took me forever to answer.
there are a few things that can do this. One way is LED displays and neon lights stuff like that will make a hum. if you have any lights like these that are only on when the car is on then I'd disconnect them and see if the hum goes away. I got a cheap capacitor a while ago that the number display made a constant hum in the subs. allot of these only turn themselves on automatically when the car turns on.
