Audio Systems: Car Stereo, fuse box, radio harness

My friend installed a JVC stereo into my 2004 Cavalier.  Lately the subs have been going out off and on.  I pulled out the stereo deck to see if there was a lose wire.  As I was pushing it back into place, a lose wire sparked.  Now the stereo wont even turn on.  I have checked ALL of the fuses and now am at a loss.  Please help or give a name of someone who can.  Thank you

Odds on you have blown a fuse, in-line on the radio harness, in the back of the stereo (red 10amp), on in a fuse box, (main or secondary, check car owners manual)
Using a tester such as a 12v probe, bulb or meter see if you have 12 volts at the BACK of the RADIO on perm live and 12 volt ignition.
