Audio Systems: Subwoofer, home theatre system, yamaha yst

I bought the Yamaha YST-SW325 Subwoofer for my husband for Christmas. He already has an $800 reciever by yamaha. Currently he only has the normal 5-speaker surround sound, but no sub. Will this be good?

It all depends on the expectations (of course), but this should do very well with matching the existing Home Theatre  system.
For pure stereo audio (with a sub), an 8" sub may be a bit lacking on louder transients when cranked up but again, it is relative to the users' expectations and listening tastes.
It is very easy to use and install, so I am sure he will be very happy on the 25th :)
