Audio Systems: Removal of JVC car stereo, metal tabs, jvc model

how do you remove a JVC model KD-G320 stereo from a 97 ford escort? the auto was in an accident and totalled, we would like to keep the stereo but dont know how to remove it. Could you give us instructions on how? Thanks

you will need the removal keys, just flat metal tabs really. they may be with the owner's manual. If not, and you are desperate, just pop the glove box out, push on the back of the radio, while prying around the metal sleeve. you may have to sacrifice the sleeve...
