Audio Systems: 2000 ford taurus mp3 audio, installing a cd changer, ford taurus

This is my question:

I have a 2000 Ford Taurus.  The head unit is a tuner/tape player.  The unique thing about this car is that the climate controls are also part of the same unit.  Originally, I had thought about installing a cd changer, but now I think some sort of mp3 player would make more sense.  Do you have any suggestions for a cost-effective way to tie a mp3 player into the car's existing audio system?  I am not really trying to create a top-of-the-line system, I just want to be able to play mp3's at a level that will be on par with the quality of the existing factory sound system.

sure, you have 2 simple options here.  one is to get a kit specially for this car like this one here:

then you can put whatever unit you want into the dash.

the 2nd option is to get an MP3 capable changer like this one:
