Audio Systems: Intermittent Power to Head Unit, sony receiver, wiring connections

I recently installed a Sony receiver in my Ford truck and the power to the unit has been intermittent.  I have checked and rechecked all wiring connections.  The power to the unit tends to shut off when I am braking, but come back on when I accelerate.  The stereo also does not lose memory as it intermittently powers on and off.  Should I return the unit. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

It's probably not the unit, its probably wiring related.  I would use a meter on the wires, maybe have a friend in the passenger seat watch the meter while you drive.  If you find any wires where the meter shows them failing I can help you run new ones.
