Audio Systems: Radio and Headlight problem, ford f 350, aftermarket radio

Hi Jake,
I have an 86 Ford F-350 that when I am listening to the radio, and turn my headlights on  the radio goes off.....I sure hope you can help me with this.....Thanks in advance......Lue

Well if this is a factory radio then I can assume the vehicle probably has some pretty serious electrical problems.  If the radio is an aftermarket radio, then something is wired wrong and one of the power/ground wires is tied into the vehicles dimmer wire behind the radio.  My best suggestion is to find a local car audio specialist and let them rewire the radio correctly.
