Audio Systems: cirrus radio, car chassis, factory radio

i have a 1995 chrsyler cirrus,factory  radio and amplifier,when you turn on the radio you can get sound for 1 sec.then sound goes off,radio stays on antena stays up,if you shut off the radio then turn back on same thing will happen again thanks for any help, gene

Hi Gene,

Please check the resistance of all the speakers, then test for resistance between each speaker wire to the car chassis. Each speaker should be approx 3 ohm between its + & - wires. Both wires of each speaker should NOT read a resistance from the wires to the car chassis.
