Audio Systems: radio for 1990 lincoln continental, premium sound system, ford radio

I have a 1990 lincoln continental and the radio does not work I am trying to find a replacement for it but was told by Best Buy that only a ford radio will work.  Is this true and if so where can I get one

well it may or may not be slightly true.  the lincolin may have a "premium" sound system that has an amplifier hidden somewhere,  if you see "bose" anywhere then about your only option is gutting the whole system and starting over,  new speakers, new cd player, new wiring from the cd player to the speakers, etc.  I can explain why if you like but just trust me.
Try to find out if you have a "premium" stereo option for your car and let me know.

if you dont, you should just be able to get a new stereo and I'll be glad to help you there.
