Audio Systems: Japanese car radio antenna into an American Car, car radio antenna, car antennas
QuestionHi, I wanted to put a Japanese car radio antenna into an American car. However, the problem is that the screws are different sizes - the Japanese antenna is smaller than the American one. Are there any screw adapters or method that I can adapt the Japanese smaller car radio antenna screw to fit into the American car?
AnswerJapan uses a diffent frequency range than US, I dont know if the annetna will work as well attempting to pick up different bands than it was designed for. Read this:

As far as making it fit, I'm not sure what you mean by screws being a different size since american car antennas dont screw in they just push in.
It's just a piece of coax wire though, so you should be able to cut and splice a new connector on. Radioshack probably has all you need to do that.
Good luck and let me know how it goes.
