QuestionHi
I need help getting the dash and face plate off to remove the old radio and install the new one
i cant seem to find the screws to get the dash out so a step by step guide would be nice but any help will do
AnswerI had a 97 cavelier. It was very difficult. If the 2002 is relatively the same this will help.
You have to pry the top of the dash up above the instruments and above the center air vents and stuff, it's held down with clips and it will pop up about 3 inches or so and you'll see a few torx screws inside that go down. you have to reach into the 3 inch opening with a small torx driver and take those screws out. I beleive there more in the front ash tray or change holder below the radio. this will alow the radio to come out.
If the 2002 is different you can try these: they are incredibly close to what you should find:

There is a guy who wrote a very large page about changing this radio and how hard it was, you can read that here although he blabs forever and doesnt get to many details:

If all else fails you can buy the instructions here for like $2

Good luck!
