Dear davestar,

Make sure (1) that the unit's plugged in (you'd be surprised), (2) that you've set up the subwoofer properly in your receiver's speaker management menu, (3) that you've set the crossover frequency (I recommend 80Hz) either via the menu or on the rear panel of the subwoofer.

You could have a bum power supply, but if everything else (above) checks out, then I'd suggest a loose wire inside the sub's amplifier.
