Question
Kevin,
It's some sort of firewire. It's larger than my IEEE that I use for video. It doesn't say what kind, not on the box or in the booklet. Maybe I can take a photo and send it to you. Thanks. Lynn-------------------------

Question -
I have a Direct TV DVR and have saved many programs that I would like to save to my laptop so that I can edit the commercials out, make copies, etc.
The box has a strange digital output, but no instructions about this "future technology".
Answer -
Dear Lynn,
What *kind* of "strange digital output"? RS232? HDMI? Coaxial? Optical? Firewire? Can you be more specific, please?
Kindest regards,
Kevin
AnswerDear Lynn,
The best I can do is refer you to a magazine article on DVD recorder connections--tho' it's missing a pic of HDMI. The link is http://www.soundandvisionmag.com/article.asp?section_id=2&article_id=417
Yes, the technology--especially different technologies which do pretty much the same thing, can be pretty bewildering. I haven't progressed much beyond component video, and don't relish the prospect.
Kindest regards,
Kevin
