QuestionI just bought a stereo as a gift. Hopefully, it will be installed in a 1988 Chevrolet Suburban. The stereo I bought is a Pioneer DEH-1700 In Dash CD Player - you can see it at:

Can you tell me if it will fit or if I need to purchase a "kit" or something?

Not off the top of my head, sorry. I have not done a Suburban in over 12 years.
But I would suggest calling (or going to) Walmart or Circuit City and see if they have a radio installation kit for that model/make and year. If they tell you that one is not available for it, you probably do not need one.
My best guess is that it will need one.
They are about 10$.
