Audio Systems: 1993 Lincoln Towncar Radio, scanner works, lincoln towncar

I heard static and then the radio went dead in my 93 lincoln towncar. I can see the stations, tuner, scanner works, etc. but no sound - every once in awhile a bit of static. Antenna is working. We've checked the fuses and they are OK.  Any suggestions or do I need to buy another system?  Thank you.

 it actually sounds like your facotry amplifier has went out, either way you will have to take it to an audio repair shop for a check up and most likly a replacement of the amplifier ... hope this helps you out if you need anything else let me know
