Audio Systems: no power to radio, aiwa radio, fuse block
QuestionIn a 91 Thunderbird, an after market Aiwa radio that was professionally installed suddenly lost power after 2 years of use. Fuses are not blown. I tried replacing with a new radio, but it has no power either. When replacing the radio I noticed that off the car harness, the orange and blue wires are not connected to anything. I also noticed that the blue wire from the adapter harness (with an in-line fuse) is connected to the blue/white on the car. I dont know if this is incorrect because it did work fine before. It seems the problem lies somewhere else, but the only thing I know to check is the fuses. Any thoughts? Thanks.
AnswerGet yourself a $7 12volt test light (auto parts store) to see if there is power at the fuse block. These can be be very handy when troubleshooting power supplys. blue/white is probably for the power antenna or a antenna booster.
