QuestionMy neighbor's 3yo was loose inside our MPV the other day while my wife was pulling groceries out of the back. Is seems it is possible to 'unload' the 6 disc cd changer without having the ignition on. It appears the little one did that, then proceeded to "shove" the disc back into the player. 8-(
The player is now frozen. Pressing the Unload button results in a short motor sound, but that's all, same goes for pressing the Load button. Can't play CDs. I don't see the CD he shoved in (he must have done a heck of a job, but at least the radio still works ;-)
My questions are as follows: "Can I take the system out of the van myself and try to fix it, or is that just asking for trouble? Do I need special tools to get the system out, or just instructions? If it's just instructions, could you provide?"
I consider myself pretty mechanically-inclined, so I'm willing to do the work, I just want to know if it's even feasible...
Thanks in advance,
Tom
AnswerTom,
You may want to take to stereo out of the dash a have a look inside. If this stereo is/has a 6 disc changer inside of it one of the trays may be broken and jamming up the CD assembly. No special tools are needed to remove and open the stereo.
