Audio Systems: cd player problem, hyundai sonata, laser assembly

i just purchased a 97' hyundai sonata and discovered that the factory cd player doesn't work. when i insert a cd it says ER-6 on the screen. What does this mean and how can i fix it?

If the CD player will take the CD all the way in and then eject the CD, the problem may be due to a dirty laser lens or a defective laser assembly. You may need to have a manual cleaning done on the lens of the laser pick up assembly.
