Audio Systems: Car stereo, pontiac grand prix, gm dealer
QuestionI have a 2000 Pontiac Grand Prix. Recently the battery went bad. I replace battery but since then the radio/Cd player hasn't worked. The display on unit says LOC. What di I need to do to get it working again.
AnswerMike,
The stereo needs the security/anti-theft access code. You may want to look through all the paper work in the vehicle and in the glove box/console. I sometimes find that the previous owners will write the access codes down in the vehicle for safekeeping. If you cannot find the access code you will have to contact your local GM dealer and inquire about the access code or you can take a look at radio-code.com. Either way it is going to cost you about $35-$40 for the access code. Once you have the code and the stereo works OK again, write it down in the console or glove box in case you need it again.
