Audio Systems: Entire Sound System, honda civic 92, speaker terminals

I would like to know how I can check my sub to make sure it's working.  I don't want to pay to have it checked but want to my self.  I also would like to know how to hook up my system because I bought a Honda Civic '92 DX  Exterior with a '98 Civic EX interior and I think it's hooked up wrong.  Thanks so very much!!

A quick test for your sub woofer by itself would be to use 9volt battery and quickly touch it across the speaker terminals and listen for a click. As for the stereo system, please give me some more details about what you are trying to do.
