Audio Systems: 1994 Escort Radios, auto salvage yard, model vehicle

My 1994 Escort has a radio with tape player.  My daughter wants a CD player in it. Did Ford make such unit in 1994?  What are my options.  I don't want an after market stereo and don't want to spend a lot on a stereo for a car that is nearing the end of its career.

I couldn't tell you for sure if Ford had a CD stereo for this year and model vehicle. You may want to try visiting a local auto salvage yard to see if they will have a CD stereo that will fit this vehicle. You don't have to settle with a 1994 CD stereo, you can always put a newer unit into this vehicle by using wiring harness adapters.
