Audio Systems: Radio has no sound, radio problem, ford escort

The Radio in the '99 ford escort I just purchased doesn't have any sound . The tuner display works. The Horn doesn't work either . Could they be connected ?

The problem may be defective speakers or the amplifier in the stereo is defective. The horn problem shouldn't be related to the radio problem unless the stereo is a premium unit with an external amp and the amp shares the same fuse as the horn circuit.
