Audio Systems: Delco Am-Fm Cassette Erroor code E-13, stereo tape, fm cassette

My cassttte player in the 98 buick will not eject,
it started a cycling sound tried to eject and it wouldnt.   I was able to lift out cassette with out damaging radio installed another cassette and the same thing happened  wouldnt play and I had a error code of E 13.  Where do I go from here, is it a inexpensive fix  If its dirt dust will using a can of pressureized air help.

Most likely the problem with your stereo tape deck is that the load gear is broken/cracked. I see many of these GM units in my shop for repair years 96-2000. In most of them the load gears are broken. The repair/replacement gear may be hard to locate, in most of the stereos the complete tape assembly will need to be replaced. Average cost of the cassette unit is around $185
