Audio Systems: SUV cd player, solder connection, cd changer

I have a 1995 ford explore expedtion, my cd player (CDC-FDF) the sound goes down when I touch or hit the center colsole where the cd changer is at. When the sound goes down I just have to tap the CD changer and the sound will go back up.

A good clue to your problem is when you mentioned that the sound would come back if you tapped on the console where the CD is located. Most likely the CD player has a defective solder connection or perhaps the cable that connects to it is loose.
