Audio Systems: Stereo Wont Work, fuse one, fuse block
QuestionHi, I just have a quick question for you. I have a 1996 Ford Ranger with factory stereo. My battery recently went dead and when I went to jump it, I accidently hooked the cables up backwards....when I did get it jumped correctly..the stereo was dead. Did I fry it or is there a reset button in the radio. I checked the fuse box and all looked good...is there another fuse in the radio itself? Any info would be greatly appreciated....thank you for your time!!

p.s- In my defense it was dark out and I had no flashlight...lol!!
AnswerGreg,
haha everybody has these moments =0) .. ok before we call it DOA go back to your fuse block and pull out each fuse one at a time and check all fuses not just the radio ones and check for blows .. now if nothing pans out there pull the unit out and check for a fuse on the back sometimes but not to often a factory unit will have a small fuse on/near the harness plug .. if none of this works you best to get a new aftermarket just make sure you b uy a wire harness adapter and a dash kit to make everything go smooth for the install .. hope this helps you out if you need anything else let me know
thanks
