Audi Repair: 2001 A6 4.2 engine quits, loose connection

I have an A6 that will stop running as if the key were turned off.  one occasion it woud  retart, the other the starter fucntion.  The dealer finds no codes and has no suggestions.  Bad key perhaps?

Well this could be a bad ignition switch, or perhaps a loose connection.  I am not sure from your question if the restart is consistent or not?  I would wiggle the key when the engine is running to see if you can get it to show the problem. Let me know,  Jan
