Audi Repair: 97 audi a6 quattro, thermal switch, audi a6

hello
i have a 97 audi and my cooling fans are not kicking on even when i turn on the ac  and the car is overheating  ever since the fans stopped working   is it the relay  if so where and how would i test it

Could be the relay or a fuse, however more likely it is the thermal switch which is in the radiator.  Easy test is to take the connections off the switch (normally in the bottom of the radiator), short the two terminal connectors together and see if the fan comes on...  Jan
