Audi Repair: 2002 Audi A4 1.8 turbo quattro, sludge problem, oil sludge
QuestionHi Jan Thanks for your previous replys. I will let you know how the wiper problem turns out when I get back to it this weekend.
I would like to know of any places where I might find aftermarket parts that are less expensive and better quality ( if possible) then factory Audi. I already have to drive an hour each way to get parts so proxsimity in this day of shipping is not the main issue.
Specifically I am looking for wiper blades, filters, regular maintenance items like brake parts, etc. Most importantly I am looking for a place that could supply "crate" motors for that day when (I'm told) the turbo or cam will meltdown due the oil sludge problem. I hope to find items that will increase performance, durability, etc, as I realy love the handling of this vehicle and hope to improve it's weak points so that I do not have to part with it due to mechanical failures. Thanks for any leads.
Sincerely,
Sean
AnswerI usually purchase all of those things on line, places such as http://www.intlautoparts.com/ or the like. With reference to crated motors, I would try some of the larger import parts places to get a low mileage engine from a damaged vehicle. Also frequent the forums like audiworld, audifans and audizine for valuable info and help from fellow owners. Cheers, Jan
